You will already have made a substantial financial investment into your company driver training programme, to ensure the health and safety of your car and⁄or van drivers. Having made such an investment, all the money you have spent will be wasted if those driver skills are not maintained. That is why you need to think about refresher driver training.

Driver Health & Safety

As you are aware, The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, as well as stating the requirement for employers to carry out Health and Safety Risk Assessments upon their staff, and provide adequate training. The same regulations require that risk driver assessments be reviewed periodically to ensure that no adverse changes have occurred.

Driver risk assessments, we recommend, should be completed every 3–years and be tied in with a course of refresher driver training. This will maintain skills up to date and documented with an up to date driver anaylis report.

Each refresher driving course and re–assessment only takes up half a day and can be completed, either from your company offices, or from the normal operating based of the individual concerned.
